Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

Category : Occasions

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, with only two weeks away. Have you thought what could your gift to your special someone be this coming Heart’s day? I know it’s really hard to think of a gift for special someone that it leaves me sleepless before, LOL! Good thing my husband and I decided not to celebrate this day when we got married.

Anyway, if you still haven’t thought of what to give, here are some suggestions. It doesn’t have to be expensive but if you have the budget, then why not?

  • Since summer is almost near, you can give her sunglasses or something she can use at the beach. If you know her size, then you can also give her a swimsuit.
  • A spa or makeover in a salon then treat her to her favorite dining place after
  • A watch – Technomarine, Philip Stein
  • An iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch
  • A dinner cruise for two
  • Boquet of her favorite flower
  • A signature bag – Longchamp, Coach, Louis Vuitton

Those are quite expensive gifts but of course, giving it to a special someone will be worth it.

What Would You Do If There’s No Internet?

Category : Web

Most of us have been used to the internet, and has made it part of our daily lives. Some of us even depends on the internet for a living, such as those doing virtual assistant jobs, article writings, programming and more. Could you still imagine your life at ten years ago when internet connection is not that available and most of us are just using dial-up connections?

Me, I couldn’t imagine my life without internet anymore. I’ve dependent on it since I work from home and I need to communicate with my boss even if I’m at home. If there’s no internet, I would have to go to the office everyday to work. I also won’t be able to blog and most likely I’ll be just at home getting bored watching television the whole day.

I’m really thankful for the technology nowadays. I’m more thankful that I not in Egypt because there’s a shutdown that’s happening there. No internet, no cellphone services.

Thia Megia on American Idol 2011

Category : Entertainment

Another Filipino pride made it on American Idol 2011. I’ve posted yesterday about Manila Luzon who’s in RuPaul’s Drag Race. Now another must watched on American Idol is Thia Megia, 15-year old. She got the golden ticket to Hollywood after singing Chasing Pavements by Adele.

Thia Megia planned on auditioning next year but since American Idol lowered down the age limit, she decided to try it this year and made it.

She was already in the semi-finals of America’s Got Talent but didn’t make it. Will she make it even to the Top 24 this time? I do hope so. Here’s her audition video if you haven’t seen it. :)

Manila Luzon : RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3

Category : Entertainment

I thought she was from Manila, Luzon, but after reading articles, I found out that’s her drag name in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 3. Manila Luzon was born and raised in the U.S., in Minnesota but she’s proud of her Filipino heritage. Luzon’s mother is half-American. Her mother is a Filipina while her dad is from Minnesota.

Why did she chose Manila Luzon? According to her, she wanted to celebrate her Filipino heritage and thought brining Asian-ness to her drag would be fun. Her mother was born in Manila and the place is in Luzon.

I wonder what her real name is? Anyway, for more details about this fierce and witty RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, check it out here.
